Hans J. Wegner (1914–2007) was a pioneering Danish furniture designer and master cabinetmaker. Widely celebrated as the "Master of the Chair," he designed nearly 500 chairs in his lifetime. Wegner is a towering figure in the "Golden Age" of modern Scandinavian design. 

His work defined the "Organic Functionality" movement. His signature style married traditional craftsmanship with modernist simplicity, focusing on comfortable, ergonomic, and honest use of wood.
