Danish Teak Sideboard by Johannes Andersen #1392

If you don’t know, now you know. Johannes Anderson is the Highboard Master. Great intention and detail lives on & on throughout this piece. Think of it as transportable cabinetry. Like a built-in, you can take with you. Fully adorned in radiant Teak, there is essentially two levels to this one-body system. The top portion contains four sliding doors. Behind the first door is a set of three felt lined adjustable drawers that may be removed and used as trays. Inside the top-middle portion, lives two long adjustable shelves. And to your right, conveniently located to wow your guests, is a dry bar (two glossy shelves fixed to an etched mirror back). The lower portion is flanked by two identical components - a vinyl lined slide out shelf and three felt lined drawers. At the center is two sliding doors which contain adjustable single shelves. All held by a beveled base with four rounded legs.

Born in 1903, Johannes Andersen like many big names in the game, underwent a formal cabinet making apprenticeship. In the mid 30's, he started his own architectural workshop where he created the designs we love today. Johannes was inspired by creating functional pieces that are also extremely pleasing to any onlooker.

He took special attention to how a piece of furniture may be used, making sure it was comfortable and accessible. Additionally, his designs are iconic for their unique rounded or softer edges and shapes - creating something new for the eye.
