Kurt Østervig (1912–1986) was a Danish furniture designer who trained as a shipbuilder in Odense on the Danish island of Funen. Østervig often preferred cleaner and more angular forms that emphasized the wood grain and texture, and therefore foregrounded the natural beauty of his materials. He was particularly fond of Oak.
